Sunmaster bulbs are one of the most popular solutions for commercial hydroponics in the United Kingdom.
Metal halide (MH) bulbs are specifically designed for early growth and the vegetative stage. Their output is concentrated in the blue end of the light spectrum.
The lamps have been chemically balanced to produce the maximum possible amount of Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR), a measure of the total light available for photosynthesis. Plants can utilize most of the light generated during growth, producing more biomass, larger leaves, and stronger stems—placing them in an ideal position for flowering.
MH lamps should only be used during the growth phase, unless they are part of a larger mixed-light setup. Professional growers typically use a 2 HPS : 1 MH ratio throughout flowering to achieve optimal results.
